Our new IPP piglets

Updated: Sep 23, 2020

The farm has pigs once again...

After a few months off since butchering our first two pigs, we bought two piglets in early June. We decided to try our hand at Idaho Pasture Pigs (IPP) a pig specifically bred to be on pasture. They are bred to have a medium upturned snout which means less damaging rooting to the pasture and a non aggressive, pleasant disposition. We bought our piglets from ShadowWolf Acres. I spent a lot of time on the phone talking with them and learning about the breed before our piglets were ready to be picked up. Two sisters. We hope to get a male piglet this summer and breed at least one of the girls.
